Giardia lamblia

Giardia lamblia (syn: Giardia intestinalis, Giardia duodenalis) is a protozoal (single-celled) parasite belonging to the family of Giardiinae.

The small intestinal parasite may cause intestinal disorders and diarrhoea.

Transmission mainly occurs via contaminated water and food respectively.
