Staphylococci

Gram-positive cocci which form irregular clusters. They occur physiologically on human and animal skin and mucous membranes.

Staphylococci may trigger surgical site and urinary tract infection, pneumonia and even bloodstream infection. The global increase in MRSA, the multi-resistant Staphylococcus-aureus strains, is one major problems in hospitals. But also outside inpatient facilities, cases of community-acquired MRSA (cMRSA) rise.
