Murine or mouse norovirus.
Belongs to the animal noroviruses and, up to now, is the only Norovirus that can be grown in cell cultures. It is increasingly used as alternative to FCV, i.e. as surrogate virus for efficacy testing of disinfectants. Basing on previous scientific findings, the RKI has not finally confirmed the suitability of MNV as surrogate virus.
